The personal can be more dangerous than the political and perhaps more oppressive than the tyranny of a military-backed regime in Egypt or the religious zealots in Texas is the greater day-to-day tyranny of “What will people say?” To destroy patriarchy, we need a revolution against its trifecta: the State, the Street, and the Home. The revolution in the Home is the hardest because every tyrant and dictator goes home. And the revolution despite the warning “What will people say?” ignites the fire of resistance in the Street. Always the State in our vision.
