This is something I think about a lot, but haven't articulated it like you have.

I've been learning martial arts for these reasons. It's also just a lot of fun, and I've unexpectedly found a nerdy queer community through it, too (I do HEMA; my club is a bunch of gay nerds who play D&D and video games). Archery, too, and I want to learn to mend and make clothes.

I also try to be rested and take care of myself, not just for myself, but to model it for my comrades and so I have the energy to be there for them when they need it.

This is a great piece, and I love the run-on sentences as the first few paragraphs that make it literally read as an exhale.

Fantastic post Mona! Yes- we must become more dangerous, to hone our fighting skills, to ward off our fatigue, to take deep breaths and exhale our rage into a long revolution💪🏾
