Whenever I hear someone spouting off about how we need to “understand” Trump supporters or how it’s mean or intolerant or counterproductive to call out their racism and misogyny, I hear the preacher telling my grandmother that her husband wouldn’t hit her if she was just a better, more respectful wife.

Exactly! We need to be clear about who is racist, who is misogynist, who is transphobic, etc
