ABOUT THE PANELISTS
A diplomat of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz received her medical degree in 1996 from the USC School of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and UCLA. Dr. Gilberg-Lenz is involved in women’s empowerment and public education, and appears frequently as an expert in women’s health and integrative medicine on TV, in print, and online. She was board-certified in integrative and holistic medicine in 2008 and completed her clinical Ayurvedic Specialist degree at California College of Ayurveda in 2010. Dr. Gilberg-Lenz has appeared on Today, CNN Headline News, and Steve Harvey. Dr. Gilberg-Lenz is cofounder of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Green Committee and is deeply committed to the promotion of healing that involves individuals, families, communities, and the planet.
Mona Eltahawy is a feminist author, commentator, and disruptor of patriarchy. She is founder and editor-in-chief of the newsletter FEMINIST GIANT and her opinion essays have appeared in media across the world. "Headscarves and Hymens: Why the Middle East Needs a Sexual Revolution" (Farrar, Straus, and Giroux 2015) targeted patriarchy in the Middle East and North Africa and her second "The Seven Necessary Sins for Women and Girls" (Beacon Press 2019) took that disruption worldwide. She is a contributor to the upcoming anthology "This Arab is Queer "and is editing the anthology "Bloody Hell! And Other Stories: Adventures in Menopause from Across the Personal and Political Spectrums."
Marjorie Korn (moderator) is a New York-based writer, editor, and podcaster specializing in health and medicine. She teaches in the Department of Narrative Medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She has received national investigative journalism awards for stories on cyberstalking and the inner workings of The Alamo. Marjorie lives in Washington Heights and is a member of the Word Up collective.
