FEMINIST GIANT and The Strand Book Club Launches with You're the Only One I've Told: The Stories Behind Abortion
FEMINIST GIANT is teaming up with The Strand Book Store in New York City to launch a feminist book club! The goal is to have monthly events—a combination of in-person and online—that will feature exciting and global feminist books.
Our first event is on July 20 when I will be in conversation with Dr. Meera Shah about her vital and especially timely book, You’re the Only One I’ve Told: The Stories Behind Abortion.
Dr. Shah is a family medicine physician practicing in New York, currently as the Chief Medical Officer of Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic. She is also the Medical Director of Whole Woman’s Health Alliance of South Bend, Indiana where she travels monthly to provide abortion care.
I wrote about the importance of her book in my essay Abortion Is Normal.
This will be a free and in-person event. More information here on how to get tickets, buy Dr. Shah’s book, and donate to FEMINIST GIANT.
More events will be announced soon!
